| Resetting Windows Media DRM in Windows Vista If you're receiving any Digital Rights Management (DRM) error messages when attempting to play a drm protected movie, you'll need to reset your Windows Media DRM component by following the steps below. 1. Click on Start and then click on My Computer. 2. Go to the Tools menu and select Folder Options.
3. Click on the View tab and then select Show hidden files and folders under the Advanced settings section.
4. Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) check box under the Advanced settings section. A Warning dialog will appear confirming this change, select Yes.
5. Double check and make sure Show hidden files and folders is selected and Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) is unchecked. Click on the OK button to save the changes and close the Folder Options dialog. 6. Open the Vista (C:) drive by double-clicking on it. 7. Open the ProgramData folder by double-clicking on it. 8. Open the Microsoft folder by double-clicking on it. 9. Open the Windows folder by double-clicking on it. 10. Right-click on the DRM folder and select Rename.
11. Type in DRMBackup and press Enter to save the changes. 12. Install the latest Windows Media DRM components by visiting the following Microsoft web site in Internet Explorer: http://go.microsoft.com/FWLink?LinkID=34506 13.
